Do you have a new boat and want to take some time to familiarise yourself, with an expert on board? Using our wealth of experience, we will help you build confidence in handling your own boat calmly and in a controlled manner, ensuring you enjoy your time on the water.
Own Boat Tuition for Your Peace of Mind
There is often a gap between formal courses and qualifications, such as those offered by the RYA or ASA, and the reality of applying the skills learnt on your own boat in different water and conditions. We understand that after completing certifications like Competent Crew or Day Skipper courses, it can be intimidating to take complete control of your boat without the guidance of instructors. Plus, if the boat you learnt on differs from your own, which may be older or a different model, this can add to the challenge.
Bones has served as a principal and chief instructor for both sailing and powerboating at various sailing schools. He has also coached dinghy racing at club, zone, and national levels. Meanwhile, Anna earned her RYA dinghy instructor qualification at the young age of 18.

With Anna & Bones on board, there is no set syllabus to follow. Rest assured, we will work with you on the specific skills you want to develop. Our training can help you improve your abilities in areas, such as heavy weather tactics, manoeuvring, looking after your boat, rigging, crew management, sail configuration, preparing for an extended passage, and much more.
We can cover a diverse range of topics, including mechanics, general boat maintenance, navigation, communications, and provisioning, among many others. No matter what you need help with, we are here to provide coaching for you and your boat.
