About - Bones Fixing Engine - Seaspace Yachting

Bones

Bones is an RYA/MCA commercially endorsed Yachtmaster Offshore with a passion for imparting his love of sailing to people of all ages. He grew up racing dinghies on the notorious Bristol Channel (UK) and further afield and has raced various classes of dinghies to national standard. With a passion for imparting his love of sailing to people of all ages, he has been a principal and chief instructor, both sail and power, for a number of sailing schools, in addition to coaching dinghy racing at club, zone and national levels.

Having maintained his own boats from an early age, Bones turned his hand to running his own successful boat repair business for several years.  His engineering standards and ability are understandably high as a result of training as an engineer with Westland Helicopters, finishing his long career with them as a flight inspector.  It has been said by many people who know Bones that ‘he can repair anything’.

About - Anna - Seaspace Yachting

Anna

Having sailed almost every year of her life, Anna has a passion for all aspects of life at sea, especially meteorology, and is a firm believer in understanding traditional seamanship skills (even if she does also make the most of modern technology when available).  She is an RYA/MCA commercially endorsed Ocean Yachtmaster and undertook her first Atlantic crossing in 2004.

Anna grew up in her parents’ chandlery on the River Hamble, where she sailed a variety of yachts & dinghies, earning an RYA Dinghy Instructors qualification at the age of 18. After a 3-line whip from her parents to get a “proper job,” she found success in accountancy as Finance Director, for a marine & hotel business amongst others, where she acquired her high hospitality standards. With a mother who was a professional chef, she also loves cooking, especially with fresh, local ingredients.

The call of the ocean was always near, and when Anna & Bones met, it inspired them to restore & run the charter yacht ‘Emily Morgan’, a Bowman 57. They offered individual, and whole boat charters in the UK, the Caribbean, & beyond, sailing over 140,000 miles together in her, including 16 Atlantic crossings & 1 circumnavigation.
